Anelka feels ‘Le Sulk’ tag is unfair

Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka says his ’supposed’ moody reputation could cost him a move to Manchester United this summer.
The France international has been recently linked with a shock move to Old Trafford as the Premier League champions look to up their summer spending by landing a top striker. However the Bolton hitman, who joined the club for £8million from Fenerbahce last summer, admits the big clubs won’t come in for him no matter how good he performs on the pitch.
The 28-year-old said: “I meet United fans and they ask me why I haven’t signed for them.
“The truth is some of the big clubs won’t come in for me. It’s not because I am not effective on the pitch but because of my supposed character.”
Anelka has been dubbed Le Sulk but he insists this does not bother him.
He added: “People can call me what they like because it doesn’t bother me.
“The most important thing is that I do my job on the pitch and have fun.
“That is why I am not going to get into a crazy game of trying to reply to the critics all the time.
“People who know me well in football know what I’m like. I’ve never had any problems with anyone.”
